Private decision support

Executive Decision Support

A four-week private process for business owners, entrepreneurs, CEOs, and senior leaders facing one consequential business decision.

Across four structured sessions, I lead the inquiry, challenge the current interpretation, compare credible options, and help establish a clear course of action.

One decision. Four sessions. A stronger basis for action.

Three private engagements are currently available.

Some decisions remain unresolved for too long

The decision may involve growth, restructuring, a senior hire, a partnership, commercial pressure, the business model, or the future direction of the company.

Several options may appear reasonable. Different people may be giving different advice. The available information may be incomplete, politically filtered, emotionally charged, or shaped by competing interests.

The problem is often not a lack of intelligence, effort, or information.

It is that the situation has not yet been examined from a complete and independent perspective.

Delay can hold back other actions, consume leadership attention, create uncertainty for the team, and keep resources tied to a direction that has not been tested properly.

The person carrying the decision often has no neutral place to examine it

Employees may not challenge you openly.

Business partners may have their own position.

Specialist advisers may understand one part of the situation but not the full business context.

Friends and family may care about you but lack the operating experience to examine the wider consequences.

You are close enough to understand the details, but sometimes too close to see every assumption, incentive, risk, or alternative interpretation.

Executive Decision Support creates a private and structured process for examining the complete situation without internal politics or pressure to defend the current view.

When this engagement can help

  • Choosing between competing growth opportunities
  • Deciding what to focus on and what to stop
  • Changing the business or revenue model
  • Restructuring a team, function, or leadership role
  • Hiring, replacing, or redefining a senior position
  • Responding to commercial pressure
  • Managing investor, board, partner, or family-business expectations
  • Considering a major partnership or strategic commitment
  • Revisiting the same issue without reaching a sound direction
  • Carrying a decision that is difficult to discuss candidly with the people around you

The engagement remains focused on one central business decision. Related issues are included when they directly affect that decision.

Move from competing views to a clear course of action

Over four weeks, the process helps you:

  • Define the real decision beneath the visible symptoms
  • Clarify what the decision needs to protect, create, or resolve
  • Separate evidence from assumptions and inherited narratives
  • Identify the interests and pressures shaping the current view
  • Compare credible options against clear decision criteria
  • Understand the risks, trade-offs, timing, and execution demands
  • Establish a direction you can explain and act on
  • Define immediate actions and points for later review

The goal is not artificial certainty.

It is a stronger basis for judgment, action, and adjustment as new information becomes available.

Reality before conclusion

The first explanation is often incomplete.

It may reflect one function, one person, one fear, one set of incentives, or one version of events.

I do not begin by accepting that explanation as the whole picture.

We examine the decision through several lenses:

  • Commercial reality
  • People and leadership
  • Incentives and interests
  • Authority and ownership
  • Available evidence
  • Risks and constraints
  • Execution capacity
  • Short-term and wider consequences

The purpose is not to create complexity.

It is to build a fuller map of reality before committing to a path.

Independent challenge without delegated judgment

I do not make the decision for you.

I lead the inquiry and strengthen the thinking behind it.

I do not simply reassure you or repeat the prevailing view. I say what I see, test the assumptions behind the current direction, and bring the conversation back to evidence, consequences, and action.

The work is direct but not theatrical.

The aim is not endless reflection.

It is to understand enough to act.

Experience shaped by growth, pressure, and change

My approach combines commercial judgment, operating experience, leadership, systems thinking, and structured decision-making.

  1. 01

    International growth

Supported 10x revenue growth and helped build commercial operations across more than 20 markets.

  2. 02

    Leadership and execution

Built and worked with international teams across four continents, including commercial leaders, country managers, team leaders, and customer-facing teams.

  3. 03

    Restructuring and transition

Worked through major downsizing, organizational restructuring, strategic change, and the operating transformation preceding a successful acquisition.

  4. 04

    High-pressure environments

Developed judgment and execution discipline through military service, international field leadership, and humanitarian response following the 2016 Ecuador earthquake.

This background allows me to examine decisions across the business, not only through one specialist discipline.
